Improving the Future for Working (libraries) Mothers: Obama Scholarships for Moms

By Fred Jackson

Even though the US economy is going through some hard times, there are some bright spots that should encourage you to look to the future. The government is encouraging women to go back to college by offering Obama scholarships for moms. All types of mothers now have the chance to get a quality education that will undoubtedly benefit their families and future employers.

The funds that make Obama scholarships possible are called Pell Grants. To encourage more moms to go back to school, President Obama and the government made some changes to these grants. Unlike before, Pell Grants worth more than $5,000 can be awarded. It’s more than a $1,000 over the previous maximum for these grants. In many cases single mothers would be low-income students, and that’s who these grants are intended to help. To deal with this, the government is encouraging moms to go back to school. Both working mothers and stay-at-home moms can benefit from having money to help them go to college.

These grants have other benefits to add incentive for moms to enroll in college. A lot of students choose to study at large colleges and universities. For single mothers couldn’t do this, it may have prevented them from going to college. The Pell Grants, however, take this factor into account. If a stay-at-home mom wants to take courses online or a working mom wants to attend college part-time, the special Pell Grants make it possible. It doesn’t matter what you want to study, from nursing to business to education. More important than the major is that now single moms have better opportunities to study.

An Obama scholarship may be the break a single mom needs to start on a different path. Applying for a scholarship involves a few simple steps. First, you have to fill out the online application for federal student aid called the FAFSA. It’s a free application, and there is plenty of information to help you learn what’s available. Also, remember that the American Opportunity Tax Credit program says that the first $4,000 to pay for your education is free. When you weigh your options, consider this as well as the possibility of getting a grant.

Single, working moms and stay-at-home moms have a tremendous opportunity. They can now advance their education by attending college. Government grants and free opportunities are meant to help moms care for their families and increase the money they can earn by being vital members of the workforce. Giving women the chance to improve the future for themselves and their families is what the Obama scholarships is all about.

Making A Windmill Does Not Involve An Engineering Degree - In Fact It Is Straightforward And Cheap

By harvey hine

I wanted to pay less for electricity and I wanted to do something nice for the natural world. I was under the notion that something like making a windmill was tricky and required some variety of extraordinary skill or teaching; thankfully I was in the wrong!

For a couple of years I had been hearing about guys that were creating their own power at home. I thought it was some kind of bull, that is until I found the Earth4Energy.com website. I read their web page then did some research. Among the many things I didn’t know was that E4E is the first business to put out a guide for home made electricity. Also I did not understand how reasonably priced it is. Or that I could do a project like this with everyday materials and that it would only take a couple of days.

E4E’s plans, videos, and technological support for Making A Windmill was wexactly what I wanted to succeed. I am content to report that I have a beautiful looking windmill attached to my house in the suburbs and it provides on average about 75% of the power for my house.

Last month my electrical statement was less than $20! Now this is for a 3100 square foot house. I bought the whole thing I needed at that big box hardware store (with the orange sign) that is just down the street and all in all it cost me around $195 (including the $50 I spent on the guide).

Now we don’t have to pay a contractor 1000’s; thank you E4E for making this product obtainable.
